Minister of the Royal Office Receives UK Permanent Under-Secretary and Syrian Ambassador




  General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office, received at his office this morning Sir Oliver Robbins, Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the visiting official and reviewed the bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, as well as avenues to enhance cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries. For his part, the guest expressed his deep appreciation for the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman in bringing viewpoints closer on a number of issues in support of peace, security and stability in the region. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom accredited to the Sultanate of Oman. His Excellency the Minister of the Royal Office also received H.E. Idris Ahmed Mia, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic accredited to the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, the two sides discussed recent developments and explored ways to enhance existing avenues of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Syrian Arab Republic, in addition to addressing a number of regional and international developments of mutual interest.
